Biography

Professor Takashiro Akitsu received Ph.D. degree at Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University in 2000, and did postdoctoral research from 2000 to 2002 at Institute for Protein Research, Osaka University. He was appointed as an assistant professor at Department of Chemistry, Keio University in 2002 (during it, studied at Department of Chemistry, Stanford University from 2007 to 2008). He moved to Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science Division II, Tokyo University of Science in 2008 as a junior associate professor, and there promoted to an associate professor in 2012, and was a full professor since 2016. He has published more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and has presented more than 10 invited lectures at different conferences.

Research Interest

His research interests include physical inorganic chemistry of coordination compounds (chiral Schiff base metal complexes) and their hybrid functional materials applied for energy and environmental chemistry (catalysts and solar or fuel cells components).
